After vocalist Emperor Magus Caligula left the band after "Angelus Exuro Pro Eternus", fans were curious to see how his bladed boots would be filled. After Nachtgarms' (NEGATOR) brief stint as the vocalist, Heljarmadr stepped up to the mic and took the world by storm with an excellent album "Where Shadows Forever Reign", a back-to-form, atmospheric, blasphemous mass of pure black metal terror.
Unleashing their bestial wrath in Atlanta at the Masquerade, DARK FUNERAL mesmerized and bathed us in all their glory. If there were any doubts that Heljarmadr couldn't hold his own, then let me make this clear...He fucking let loose like a blast of Hellish fury and took his rightful position as a worthy frontman. Working their way through songs like 'Hail Murder' and 'Nail them To The Cross', watching DARK FUNERAL perform live was about as blissful as a handjob from Satan himself. Performing in front of a giant canvas of the album cover "The Secrets Of The Black Arts", the legions of Hell blasted their way through standouts 'My Funeral', 'Unchain My Soul' and 'Where Shadows Forever Reign'. Playing to a sold-out crowd along with Prime Mover, Thy Antichrist and headliner Septicflesh, DARK FUNERAL kicked our sorry asses into the ground and crushed our teeth in with shattering fervor.
